Watertown Fire Rescue fights barn fire north of Castlewood

CASTLEWOOD, S.D.–Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire on Wednesday.

The fire was in a barn on 459th Avenue, about five miles north of Castlewood.

Crews arrived on scene to find the barn fully engulfed in flames.

A portion of the building was being used as a butcher shop at the time of the fire.

The building was a total loss, and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time, with an investigation pending.

Crews were on scene for about four hours, and were assisted by Castlewood Fire.

There were no injuries.
