Watertown falls to Fargo North in 14-inning affair

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Post 17 would fall 8-7 to Fargo North in a 14 inning affair on Saturday.
Watertown would come back to tie the game at one apiece at the top of the seventh inning. Each team would put up goose eggs in the eighth, ninth, and tenth innings. After being tied at one in the 10th, both coaches decided to play on one 14-inning game instead of the scheduled doubleheader.
Watertown would put up three in the 11th but Fargo would answer back with a seven spot. Post 17 would attempt the comeback but fall short with two in the 12th and one in the 13th.
Dawson Schmidt, Andrew Czech, Breadon Zaug, and Trevon Rawdon would each put down two hits in the game. Czech, Schmidt, Kale Stevenson, would each collect one RBI in the game.
Kade Russell started on the hill for the purple and gold, allowing five hits, one run, fanning six on 101 pitches. Connor Hanson pitched three innings, allowing one hit, striking out six. Jack Heesch would pitch an inning, allowing six hits, seven runs, and striking out two. Trevon Rawdon would finish the game, throwing two innings, allowing one hit, while striking out two on 42 pitches.
Watertown (8-8) travels to Aberdeen for two games at 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 25th.
