Watertown earns two big wins over Brookings and Sioux Falls East at home tri

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Post 17 would earn two big victories at their home tri on Thursday.

With the game tied at 1-1 between Watertown and Sioux Falls East, Braxton Lacher would come up big:

That two RBI single would be the difference as Post 17 would claim a 3-1 victory over East.  Mason Morris would lead Watertown to victory on the hill, allowing five hits and one run over six innings, striking out six and walking one.  Jerod Cyrus earned the save.
Game three of the day would see Watertown defeat rival Brookings 8-5.  Evan Falconer and Braxton Lacher would each collect 2 RBI’s in the game.  Peyton Johnston and Kale Stevenson would each send in one run.  Lexan Thorson got the win on the mound as he would go five innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out one. Jerod Cyrus would earn his second save of the day to finish out the game.

After taking the 4th of July holiday off, Watertown Post 17 (15-8) returns home Monday to face Huron at 5 and 7 p.m.  Games will be broadcast on The Talk of Watertown on 1480 KSDR and GoWatertown.net/Post17.
