WATERTOWN, S.D.–It’s now official. Watertown is switching airline consulting companies.

The Texas-based ArkStar Group had been the consultant for the past two years, but on Monday night, the city council agreed to go in a different direction, approving a two-year contract with Indiana-based Volaire Aviation Consulting.

Airport Board member Mike Tomlinson was asked the difference in what the city was paying ArkStart, and what they’ll be paying Volaire….

Mike Mooney is a managing partner with Volaire. He was asked about developing Watertown’s air service. He told the council it starts with working with the airline that’s here now….

The approval of the Volaire contract follows unanimous approval given by the Airport Board at their meeting last week.
