WATERTOWN, S.D.—The COVID-19 pandemic is putting a tremendous strain on financial resources for millions of people across the country.

They’ve lost jobs due to businesses being asked to shut down.

Those job losses mean it’s becoming increasingly harder for families to put food on the table, and that’s where local organizations like “Watertown Community Cares” comes in.

They’re holding a food distribution drive tomorrow (Thursday) beginning at 4 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club.

Helping to underwrite the cost of this event is the Watertown Area Community Foundation. Executive Director Jan DeBerg says they donated $10,000 from their “Watertown Relief Fund”….

DeBerg expects grant requests from the foundation will be increasing, given the times we’re now living in…

Thursday’s food distribution is a drive-thru event only. People should use the west main entrance of the Boys and Girls Club. No vehicles will be allowed to line up before 4 p.m. The food distribution will run until 6 p.m., or while supplies last.
