WATERTOWN, S.D.–The wheels of government can turn very slowly, and that’s evident by the timeliness of Watertown’s City Hall project.
It’s been almost two years since the city bought the Wells Fargo Bank building downtown, with the intention of remodeling it into a new City Hall.
Remodeling work hasn’t started yet. In fact, city officials haven’t even awarded a bid for the construction work. City Manager Amanda Mack tells KWAT News that should be happening soon….
They won’t have any options when it comes to deciding who gets the remodeling contract, because just one bid was submitted….
The cost of the project, including the purchase of the building, is expected to top six-million dollars.
