WATERTOWN, S.D.–No consensus yet from the Watertown City Council on what an ordinance should look like that regulates outdoor smoking shelters.
Mayor Ried Holien came into the Legislature shortly after South Dakota voters banned smoking in indoor public places, which led to the creation of smoking shelters, where customers of bars and casinos could still smoke……
But it’s not that easy…
The city council has spent their past two meetings discussing the smoking shelters at length. They’ll continue working on the ordinance at their meetings in June.
