WATERTOWN, S.D.—The Watertown City Council meets tonight, and one of the agenda items pertains to the hiring of Watertown’s first city manager.
The council is expected to approve a contract with DDA Human Resources Incorporated of St. Bonifacius, Minnesota as the search firm that will help Watertown find a city manager.
DDA would be paid $22,000 for their services.
The recruitment process for a city manager is expected to last through the end of the year, with the eventual new hire starting the job in the spring or summer of 2021.
In June 2019, Watertown voters overwhelmingly supported a move to a city manager-led form of government.
