WATERTOWN, S.D.–The newly-elected Watertown City Council meets tonight for a work session that begins at 5:30.

They’ll discuss several large construction projects that are already underway–or in some cases–still in the planning stages.

Among them are the new airport terminal, which is scheduled to open in early 2022, the new downtown park called Foundation Plaza, the purchase and the renovation of the Wells Fargo Bank building downtown, which will become the new City Hall, a new two sheet ice arena along Willow Creek Drive, and a new maintenance and storage building for the Street Department.

Tonight’s meeting will be for discussion purposes only. No action is expected on any of those projects.
