Watertown announces days for annual City Wide Clean Up Week
April 15, 2024
WATERTOWN, S.D.–The City of Watertown is thrilled to announce the return of Annual City Wide Clean-Up Week, which will kick off on Monday, April 22, and continue through Thursday, April 25, 2024.
To participate in this community-wide initiative, residents are required to place items on their boulevards starting on Saturday, April 20 to Sunday, April 21, ensuring collection during Clean- Up Week.
Please note that the City will not return to an area, emphasizing the importance of timely placement of items. Residents are kindly reminded not to set out items prior to Saturday, April
20 as this is a violation of city ordinance.
Additionally, items should be sorted into two piles:
Metal Pile: This includes washers/dryers, stoves/ranges, water heaters/softeners, furnaces, bikes, lawn mowers, tillers, snow blowers, microwaves, exercise equipment,
grills, refrigerators & freezers (doors removed), dish washers, and air conditioners. Please refrain from removing Freon, as the Watertown Regional Landfill will
handle its removal.
Non-Metal Pile: This is limited to rolled carpet, furniture, hot tubs, mattresses, and large electronics (TVs, computers, scanners, etc.)
All metals deposited in the ‘metal pile’ will be recycled.
