Water rescue made on western Minnesota lake

MADISON, Minn.–Three people were the subject of a water rescue in western Minnesota Wednesday.
Lac Qui Parle County Sheriff Allen Anderson says just after 12 noon, dispatch received a call of three people who were taking on water in the middle of Lac Qui Parle Lake.
Emergency responders were able to quickly locate the individuals on a rock in the middle of the lake. All three were cold, but otherwise uninjured.
Anderson says the kayak they were using had developed a crack and was taking on water.
Authorities were able to recover their fishing gear.
Anderson says all three were wearing life jackets.
Assisting were the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, Milan first responders, Dawson Ambulance, Montevideo Ambulance and Minnesota State Patrol.
