FLANDREAU, S.D.–A Volga woman has been identified as the person killed when two pickups collided at an intersection five miles west of Flandreau.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says 39 year-old Candice Petersen was a passenger in one of the pickups, and was dead at the scene of Friday night’s crash.

Meanwhile, a Sturgis man has been killed in a motorcycle accident in the Black Hills. Sixty year-old Paul Strain died when his cycle hit a guardrail on U.S. Highway 14A, five miles west of Sturgis.

A 71 year-old man died Sunday night when two vehicles collided at an intersection three miles north of Hurley, South Dakota. That man’s name has not been released yet.
