MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – David Montgomery rushed for a career-high 146 yards and two touchdowns as the Chicago Bears trampled Minnesota’s depleted defense and hung on for a 33-27 victory. The Vikings fell to 6-8 and saw their postseason chances all but vanish. The game only further illustrated why the Vikings are on the outside of the postseason this year. The defense, a staple of Mike Zimmer’s tenure with the Vikings, was unable to make the key stop when they needed it. Minnesota travels to New Orleans for a Christmas Day matchup.
