Vaux out after less than eight months of leading Watertown Development Company

WATERTOWN, S.D.–The Executive Director of the Watertown Development Company (WDC) is gone after less than eight months on the job.

Mark Vaux  (pictured) resigned last week. No details were given.

Vaux previously ran the economic development program in Mitchell, where he was asked to resign.

Vaux was hired after former WDC Executive Director Chris Schilken resigned to take a job with the South Dakota Governor’s Office on Economic Development. 

Michelle Kakacek will serve as Interim Director in Watertown as a search committee works to select a replacement over the next few months.
