WATERTOWN, S.D.–Monday was the deadline for businesses interested in selling medical marijuana in Watertown to submit their application to the city and the state.

City Attorney Matt Roby tells KWAT News just two applications have been received, even though an ordinance approved by the city council allows up to three dispensaries…

Roby says the city will work with the applicants to make sure their medical marijuana shops are set up in an appropriate location, with acceptable hours of operation….

No specific information regarding the applicants in Watertown has been released.
