FREEMAN, S.D.–Authorities have identified a teenage girl who died in a single vehicle crash in South Dakota’s Hutchinson County over the weekend.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says 17 year-old Megan Rollag of Freeman was killed when the car she was driving went off a road and rolled into a ditch Saturday afternoon.

It happened five miles north of Freeman in an area where the road she was traveling transitioned from pavement to gravel.

Rollag was not buckled up, and died at the scene.

Meanwhile, one person was killed Wednesday morning in a crash two vehicle crash two miles south of Mount Vernon. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says it happened on an Interstate 90 overpass.

The driver of a Caterpillar highway maintainer was driving northbound and drifted into the ditch, then overcorrected crossing the centerline, and into the path of an oncoming car.

The driver of the car, a 63 year-old man, was killed.  The driver of the Caterpillar was not injured.
