UPDATE: Pitchers mound damaged in weekend vandalism at Watertown Stadium

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) —

Checking the field Sunday morning, Director of Operations for the Watertown Baseball Association and Post 17 Coach Ryan Neale discovered someone had jumped the fence at Watertown Stadium and completely dug up the pitcher’s mound leaving a giant hole where it once stood.

Thursday’s regularly scheduled home opener with Aberdeen has been moved to Fossum Field in Aberdeen.  Another home doubleheader with the Smitty’s has been added May 26th. Post 17 will now have their home opener Saturday and Sunday against Fargo Post 400.  Brent Nathaniel will have the call of those games on 1480 KSDR and GoWatertown.net/Post17.
