KRANZBURG, S.D.–No names have been released yet, but we are learning more details about a multi vehicle accident on Highway 212 Tuesday morning that left one person with life-threatening injuries.

It happened just before six o’clock a quarter of a mile west of Kranzburg.

A mini van rear ended a tractor that was making a left hand turn off the highway.

The driver of a pickup stopped to help by shining his headlights on the van’s wreckage, and then a westbound vehicle struck both the mini van and the pickup.

The 59 year-old man driving the mini van was taken to Prairie Lakes Hospital and then airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating.
