UPDATE: Man killed in Yankton County crash identified

YANKTON, S.D.–Authorities have released the names of those involved in a fatal two-vehicle crash in southeast South Dakota on Saturday night.

The accident happened on Highway 50 about 7 miles east of Yankton.

The Highway Patrol says a Ford van driven by 45-year-old Michael Myers of Sioux Falls was traveling east in the westbound lanes when it crashed head-on with a Chevy Tahoe.

Myers died from his injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Tahoe, a Fordyce, Nebraska man, was wearing a seatbelt and received life-threatening injuries. He was flown by helicopter to a Sioux Falls hospital
