UPDATE: Man killed in I-29 crash identified

ELK POINT, S.D. – A Sioux City, Iowa man has been identified as the person who died Thursday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash six miles north of Elk Point in Union County.

Fifty four year-old Joseph Hoover was southbound on I-29 when he went into the west ditch and rolled the pickup he was driving.

Hoover was flown to a Sioux City hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities say he was not wearing a seat belt, and was the only occupant of the vehicle.
