WATERTOWN, S.D.–The South Dakota Highway Patrol says one person was killed and two people were injured in a head-on crash on Highway 20, a half-mile west of Watertown on Thursday.

 

The patrol says a Toyota Highlander driven by a 17 year-old boy was westbound when it collided head-on with an eastbound GMC Yukon.

 

The driver of the Yukon–a 56 year-old man–was killed.  His passenger–a 54 year-old woman–sustained life-threatening injuries.

 

The teenage boy sustained serious, non life threatening injuries.

 

Both injured parties were taken to a Sioux Falls hospital. 

 

Names will be released once relatives have been notified. 

 

The crash was reported at 5:22 p.m.
