WATERTOWN, S.D.—A powerful winter storm will bring a classic one-two punch of bad weather to the area today and tomorrow.
Punch number one is the snow, and that’ll come today….
National Weather Service Forecaster Scott Doering says the second punch could be of the knockout variety as far as travel is concerned. That will be the wind, which by Saturday could be gusting to 50 miles an hour, creating blizzard conditions…
It’ll be windy region wide, but conditions will be better the further west you go….
The winds should gradually taper off Saturday, but winter is definitely here….
The Watertown area is in a Winter Storm Warning today, and a Blizzard Warning for Saturday.
There’s a high likelihood that travel will become impossible as we work our way into the weekend.
