WATERTOWN, S.D.–The South Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of a person killed in a head-on crash a quarter mile northwest of Watertown last week.

Twenty one year-old Casey Hundstad of Watertown was killed when the westbound Ford Focus he was driving crossed over the center line on Highway 20, and struck an oncoming semi just before 7:00 o’clock Friday morning.

Hundstad was dead at the scene. He was a 2018 graduate of Aberdeen Central High School, and a 2020 graduate of Lake Area Technical College.

The truck driver, 57 year-old Kendall Enzminger of Medina, North Dakota, was not injured.

The crash shut down the highway for about 3 1/2 hours while the accident was investigated.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home of Aberdeen is handling arrangements for Hundstad’s family. Memorial services will be at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to Little Blessings Daycare and Learning Center in Watertown, where Casey was employed.
