WEBSTER, S.D.—Day County authorities have released the name of a duck hunter who died in a boating accident on Bitter Lake south of Waubay .
Thirty eight year-old Anthony Larsen of Lonsdale, Minnesota drowned Saturday morning after the boat he and two other hunters were in began taking on water.
Two conservation officers with the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks recovered Larsen’s body in 14 feet of water.
The other two hunters were rescued. They were treated for hypothermia at Sanford Medical Center in Webster. Their names are not being released.
Sheriff Ryan Rucktaeschel believes the boat may have been overloaded, and that’s the reason it sank.
