WAUBAY, S.D.–The South Dakota Highway Patrol has identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car over the weekend in Day County.

Thirty seven year-old Louis Buck Elk of Waubay died after being run over on County Road One, three miles northeast of Waubay early Saturday morning.

The car was driven by 48 year-old Terrence St. John of Sisseton. He and a 33 year-old female passenger sustained minor injuries and were treated at the Webster hospital.

Meanwhile, two men have died in a crash on Interstate 229 in Sioux Falls.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says they were northbound on the Interstate when the pickup they were in went out of control and rolled into the center median.

The two men in the pickup, ages 70 and 72, were both ejected and died at the scene.

Their names have not been released.
