UPDATE: Arrests made in Watertown business burglaries  (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.–A tip from the public has helped Watertown police solve two business burglaries and an attempted burglary.

The El Tapatio Restaurant (713 9th Avenue Southeast) and Cattlemen’s Casino (1000 10th Street Northwest) were broken into and burglarized early Sunday morning. The suspects got away with cash and alcohol.

There was also an attempted break-in at Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits (1341 9th Avenue Southeast) that same morning.

Police Captain Steve Rehorst says a tip from the public directed investigators toward to the two juvenile suspects responsible…

The juveniles also stole cars in Sisseton and Watertown that were used during the burglaries. Both vehicles have since been recovered.

Rehorst says since police went public with their investigation, many tips came in from the public…

The case will now be referred to the Codington County State’s Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges.

Watertown police were assisted in the investigation by Sisseton police, Sisseton-Wahpeton Tribal Police. and the Robert’s County Sheriff’s Office.
