WATERTOWN, S.D.–Weather in a word in our region for the past several days can be summed up in one word—windy.

Well, make that two words—extremely windy. And it’s going to stay that way for awhile…

National Weather Service forecaster Aaron Dorn says it’s like South Dakota is the meat in a sandwich; stuck between two weather systems that create a strong pressure gradient, and unrelenting wind….

Dorn says sustained winds have easily been in the 25 to 35 miles an hour range—with gusts even stronger than that..…

Wind gusts are expected to exceed 40 miles an hour today.
