WATERTOWN, S.D.–The final official number for passenger boardings at Watertown Regional Airport in 2022 is now in….

Councilman Glen Vilhauer is the city council liasion to the Watertown Airport Board.

Watertown commercial airline is Denver Air Connection (DAC), whose contract to serve the city expires this summer.

Vilhauer says DAC has submitted a bid to the U.S. Department of Transportation to continue serving Watertown, with options of flying to Denver and Chicago, or Denver and Minneapolis-St. Paul.

The comment period for the city to recommend which routes they prefer has been extended…

A special Airport Board meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday in the council chambers to discuss in more detail which destinations are preferred.
