UNDATED–Two South Dakota law enforcement officers were injured in crashes Tuesday.
In one instance, Jackson County Sheriff Tucker Amiotte was hurt when an SUV rear-ended a sheriff’s department pickup truck he was in.
Amiotte was pulled off to the side of Interstate 90 on a traffic stop when his vehicle was struck from behind with enough force to push the tailgate of the truck all the way to the rear wheels (pictured).
In the second incident, a trooper was injured when his squad car was struck while stopped at a call on I-29 in Union County even though he had his amber lights flashing.
In both cases, the law enforcement officers are expected to be okay.
