Two people injured in van/pickup collision in Deuel County

CLEAR LAKE, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Two people were injured Tuesday in a van/pickup collision in Deuel County.

Deuel County emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash on South Dakota Highway 15 about one-fourth mile north of South Dakota Highway 28.

According to a release, both vehicles were southbound on highway 15.  A pickup stopped on the highway due to traffic.  A van did not stop and collided into the back end of the pickup.The driver of the van was not injured.

The passenger in the van received minor injuries and was transported to Sanford Clear Lake hospital by private vehicle. The driver of the pickup received minor injuries and was transported to Sanford Clear Lake hospital by Deuel County Ambulance.

The Deuel County Sheriff’s Office, Deuel County Ambulance, and Toronto Fire Dept all responded to the scene. The Deuel County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
