Two men injured in head on crash on Highway 81

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Two men were injured in a head-on collision south of Watertown Thursday afternoon.
Codington County Sheriff Brad Howell tells KWAT News it happened just before 1:30 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 81 and 176th Street.
A van driven by 20 year-old Hunter Bohls of Watertown was southbound on Highway 81, and as he attempted to make a left hand turn, collided with a northbound pickup truck driven by 53 year-old Anthony Opdahl of rural Hazel.
Bohls was ejected from the van. Both men were taken to Prairie Lakes Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Bohls was cited for Failure to Yield to Oncoming Traffic and not wearing a seatbelt. Opdahl was also cited for not wearing a seat belt.
The Codington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. They were assisted at the scene by Watertown Fire Rescue and Performance Towing.
