WATERTOWN, S.D.–Two men were arrested following a law enforcement pursuit in Codington and Clark counties.

It began Saturday night at 10:40 p.m. when a Codington County deputy attempted a traffic stop on a black Cadillac Escalade north of Watertown at 164th Street near 450th Avenue.

The vehicle fled on a 12-minute pursuit that, at various points, included travel on gravel and paved roads.

Deputies eventually lost sight of the vehicle and terminated the chase.

A short time later, Clark County deputies and Clark police located the vehicle on 160th Street and Highway 25 in Clark County.

The two occupants of the vehicle surrendered.

Forty one year-old Nathaniel Nilson of Webster (pictured) is charged with DUI, Aggravated Eluding, and other traffic violations, and was being held on $5,000 bond.

A passenger, 41 year-old Travis Shepherd of Kadoka, was arrested on a warrant out of Moody County for Second Offense DUI.
