BROOKINGS, S.D.–With February right around the corner, it’s only a matter of weeks before Minnesota Twins pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training.

There was baseball in the air Tuesday night, as the Minnesota Twins annual Winter Caravan made a stop on the South Dakota State University campus in Brookings.

Pitcher Caleb Thielbar, a South Dakota State alum, along with catcher Ryan Jeffers, Hall of Famer Tony Oliva and television broadcaster Dick Bremer met with fans, signed autographs and took part in a question and answer session.

Thielbar also announced the Jackrabbits football team will be playing a September 16th game against Drake University at the home of the Twins, Target Field.

The Twins season opener is March 30th at Kansas City. Their home opener is April 6th against Houston.

KWAT, the radio home of the Minnesota Twins in northeast South Dakota, was at the caravan Tuesday night. Interviews are posted below.
