Turkey hunter dies in Brookings County

WHITE, S.D.–A man has died in a hunting accident in Brookings County.
Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says ambulances from Brookings and White, Conservation Officers with Game, Fish and Parks and deputies with the sheriff’s office responded to the accident in a field four miles southeast of White.
Sebring says 62 year-old Mark Steinborn and his son, 29 year-old Gabriel Steinborn, both of Sioux Falls, had been bow hunting turkeys when the elder Steinborn was accidentally shot with an arrow from his son.
Life saving measures at the scene were unsuccessful.
The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
