TUESDAY UPDATE: South Dakota’s COVID-19 death toll now stands at 24

PIERRE, S.D.—Three more South Dakotans have died from the COVID-19 virus. That brings the death toll to 24. All three recent deaths in Tuesday’s report were residents of Minnehaha County.

The State Health Department reports 53 new cases, but 65 additional recoveries.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in South Dakota is now 2,721, but 1,895 of those people, or 70-percent of them, have recovered.

There are currently 802 active cases of the virus in South Dakota. A week ago, there were 910.

Codington County has two active cases.
