WOLSEY, S.D.–The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a head on crash in Beadle County that killed three people Saturday afternoon.
It happened on U.S. Highway 14, five miles southeast of Wolsey.
A Chevy Tahoe drifted over the center line and collided head-on with a Toyota Rav 4.
The 40 year-old man driving the Tahoe was killed, as was the 55 year-old woman driving the Toyota, and her 78 year-old female passenger.
Names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Traffic was detoured at the crash site for about four hours.
Another person died in a separate crash on I-90 three miles east of Murdo Saturday.
A 74 year-old man died when the pickup he was driving left the interstate and rolled. He was not buckled up and died at the scene.
