WATERTOWN, S.D.–FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr was among the dignitaries on hand for a ribbon-cutting at Tower Systems headquarters west of Watertown today.

Tower Systems founder Bill Carlson moved the company to Watertown from his native Minnesota 30 years ago.

Carr told the gathering  it’s companies like Tower Systems, and the men and women in the company that install communication towers, that make our lives easier…

South Dakota Senator John Thune was there too. He says the infrastructure technology installed by Tower Systems employees will be critical in the rollout of 5-G internet speeds across the country…

Mayor Sarah Caron proclaimed today, “Bill Carlson Day” in Watertown in honor of the founder of Tower Systems, who passed away in 2019….

The program ended with a ribbon-cutting to mark the “We Rise” rebrand of Tower Systems, and the critical role they’ll play in advancing 5-G and broadband initiatives across the country.
