PIERRE, S.D.—The number of South Dakotans who’ve recovered from the COVID-19 virus has climbed over 1,000.

Today, the State Health Department reports 98 new cases of the virus, bringing the total to 1,956.

But more than half of those people—1,064—have recovered.

Of the 98 new cases today, 81 are in Minnehaha County.

The number of South Dakotans currently hospitalized with the virus is 58—which is down from the 62 being reported Wednesday.

Codington County has gone another day without recording a single new case. In fact, all 13 residents of the county who tested positive are now recovered, meaning there are no active cases in the county.
