THURSDAY UPDATE: Minnehaha County adds 46 new COVID-19 cases, statewide number now over 400

PIERRE, S.D.—COVID-19 infections have surpassed the 400 mark in South Dakota.

Today’s State Health Department report says positive cases statewide have reached 447.  Of the 54 new cases being reported today, 46 of them are in Minnehaha County.

Two counties have reported their first cases, Corson and Jerauld.

Other new cases are being reported today in the counties of Brown, Hughes, Lincoln, Pennington and Yankton.

The death toll from the virus in South Dakota remains at six.

Twenty-seven people in the state have required hospitalization, and 161 have recovered.

In Codington County, the case number has held steady at 12. Ten of those 12 people have recovered.
