Thune endorses South Carolina’s Tim Scott in 2024 presidential race

CHARLESON, S.C.–South Dakota Senator John Thune will not be running for president in 2024, but he’s made it clear who he favors in the race.
Thune was in Charleston, South Carolina Monday to endorse Senator Tim Scott, who officially launched his campaign for the White House.
Thune delivered the opening prayer prior to Scott’s campaign kick off speech.
Thune, the Senator Minority Whip, is the highest ranking congressional Republican to endorse Scott in the presidential race.
In a statement, Thune said, “I want all of America to know what South Carolina knows and what I know because I get to see it every day in the United States Senate – and that is that Tim Scott is the real deal.”
