Three Bulldogs lead Class B Boys All-State

(GoWatertown.net) — Three state champion De Smet Bulldogs lead the Boys Class B All-State selections as chosen by the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association.

De Smet seniors Kalen Garry and Rett Osthus earn first-team honors. Garry averaged 21 points per game and grabbed 7.1 boards. He finished this season with 391 total points while shooting 49 percent from the field and 35 percent from the three-point line. The South Dakota State recruit was also named Class B Player of the Year.

Osthus averaged 10.1 points per game and totaled 34 steals and 16 blocks this season. The Dakota Wesleyan recruit finished his senior season with 202 total points while shooting 76 percent from the field.

De Smet junior Damon Wilkinson made the Class B second-team for his 14.4 point per game performance while shooting 57 percent from the field and finishing this season with 289 points.

Waubay/Summit junior Damon Opdahl was honored as a Class B second-team selection. Opdahl averaged 17.1 points per game this season for the Mustangs and grabbed 7.38 boards leading his team to the co-op’s first-ever consolation championship.
