WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a house fire a little before seven o’clock Sunday morning. The fire was at 129 12th Street Southwest.

They found smoke coming from the front door of the house and all occupants were outside of the house.

Firefighters made entry into the home and found an area where a box was on fire, the box and the carpet in the area was extinguished and a fan was used to remove the smoke from the home.

The structure of the house sustained no damage, the interior of the home has burned carpet and some smoke damage.

Cause of fire is under investigation. Fire Rescue was on scene for less than hour.
