Student pilot killed in plane crash in eastern North Dakota

TRAILL COUNTY, N.D. – A University of North Dakota student pilot was killed in a plane crash in Traill County Monday night.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the UND aircraft crashed in a field southeast of the town of Buxton. The pilot’s name has not been released.

The Highway Patrol says the crash was reported at 8:30 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol, Federal Aviation Administration, and the Traill County Sheriff’s Office.
