Stormy weekend across northeast South Dakota

ABERDEEN, S.D.–A stormy weekend across the region as tornadoes, heavy rain, strong winds and hail were reported with a storm system that moved through Saturday afternoon and evening.

The Aberdeen office of the National Weather Service reports tornadoes were spotted two miles southwest of Brentford in Spink County, three miles west of Langford, and two miles northwest of Roslyn. There was also a report of a funnel cloud two miles west of Ortley.

A 30 foot trailer being pulled by a pickup was blown off Interstate29 near the Peever exit Saturday night.

There were reports of tree damage in Roslyn and Bryant and one inch hail reported in Hamlin County.

Odessa, Minnesota, in Big Stone County, picked up more than four-and-a-half inches of rain from the storms.
