PIERRE, S.D.–It has been 25 days since South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg (pictured) struck and killed pedestrian Joe Boever on U.S. Highway 14 just outside Highmore.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol has not yet issued a report or issued any charges in the case.
S.D. Department of Public Safety spokesman Tony Mangan says that isn’t unusual.
Mangan says the Highway Patrol can often take 30 days or more to complete an investigation.
He says the length can depend on other elements in the case, such as interviews, test results, and crash reconstructions.
