Stevenon’s grand slam sends Watertown past Mitchell

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown Post 17 would sweep Mitchell Post 18 Tuesday night at Watertown Stadium. 

As heard on the Talk of Watertown 1480, KSDR, down 11-12 in the sixth inning, Kale Stevenson would put his team ahead for good: 

That would put Post 17 ahead for good for the W, 15-12.  Stevenson would have three hits and five RBI’s in game one. Andrew Czech would go an inning and two-thirds in game one throwing 70 pitches and allowing eight hits, seven runs, issuing three walks while striking out two. Jerod Cyrus would shut the door in the seventh. 

Mitchell would race out to a 3-0 lead but once again Kale Stevenson would put his team ahead 4-3 with a 2 RBI home run in the 5th.  The purple and gold would put nine runs past the plate in the 6th inning for a 13-3 ten run-rule victory. Stevenson would drop down two hits and two RBI’s in game two.  Dawson Schmidt would have one hit and 3 RBI’s.  Easton Thury would pitch six innings on the mound, throwing 95 pitches for four hits, three runs, issued three walks, and struck out five.
