South Dakota’s active number of COVID-19 cases climbs above 1,100

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – South Dakota has reported 129 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths.
The number of active cases remained above 1,000 for the second consecutive day.
The Department of Health says 1,125 people have active infections statewide. Over the past two weeks, the rolling average number of daily new cases has increased by about 38%.
The number of hospitalizations from the coronavirus increased by seven from Saturday, with 55 people currently requiring hospital care.
Over the course of the pandemic, 9,605 people have been confirmed to have COVID-19. While 87% of them have recovered, 146 people have died.
