South Dakota volleyball returns to Sanford Pentagon for match with Northern Colorado

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Sanford Pentagon will host a volleyball match between Summit League champion South Dakota and Big Sky champion Northern Colorado on Sept. 10.
South Dakota is coming off a 20-10 season, completing the Summit League regular season with a 15-3 record and winning a second consecutive conference tournament title. The Coyotes advanced to the NCAA Tournament, falling to No. 11 Minnesota in the opening round. USD returns five seniors including three-time Summit League First Team and AVCA All-Region selection Elizabeth Juhnke and two-time Summit League First Team selection Madison Harms. Leanne Williamson enters her ninth season as head coach.
Northern Colorado will visit the Sanford Pentagon for the first time in program history. The Bears finished last season with a 24-7 record. UNC captured the Big Sky conference tournament title in 2021 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament where they lost to Washington State.
This will be the Coyotes’ fourth match at the Pentagon. USD first played on Heritage Court on October 20, 2019, defeating Purdue Fort Wayne in straight sets.
