South Dakota summer study on regional jails meets

(KWAT) — On Wednesday, South Dakota’s Summer Study Committee on regional jails met at Northern State University. The committee took a tour of the proposed location for a new regional jail in Aberdeen.
Grant County Sheriff Kevin Owen talked to the committee about the challenges in staffing local county jails in the state…….
The committee will meet again in August, when they’re scheduled to look at prisons in Minnehaha & Clay Counties.
