South Dakota Highway Patrol identifies pedestrian killed in crash

MAVERICK JUNCTION, S.D.–A Hot Springs man has been identified as the person killed in a car-pedestrian accident in South Dakota’s Fall River County.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol says eighty two year-old Roger Klein was walking on U.S.. Highway 18 near Maverick Junction Monday afternoon when he was struck by a car driven by a Buffalo Gap woman.
It happened on the crest of a hill. The woman tried to avoid Klein, but struck him with the front passenger side of the vehicle.
Klein was dead at the scene.
The woman was not injured.
